Google Search Console

Connect Google Search Console read-only to see the queries and pages people found you through, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate and position.

Google doesn't pass the search query along with a visit, so your analytics see Google as the source but not what was searched. Google Search Console has that: connect it and each website gets a Search Console page with the queries and pages people found you through, their clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position.

  1. Open the website's Search Console page

It's in the sidebar. Only the website's owner can connect it; the rest of the team reads it once it's on.

  2. Click Connect Google Search Console

Sign in with the Google account that has the website in Search Console and allow read-only access.

  3. The property is picked for you

A domain property (sc-domain:example.com) or a URL-prefix property for your domain is chosen by itself. If none matches exactly, you pick one from the account's list.

How the data comes in

  • The first sync brings the last 90 days; after that, new days come in every few hours, when the page is opened, or with Sync now.
  • Search Console is daily and about two days behind. Periods shorter than a day (and yesterday) show the last 7 days instead.
  • Average position is weighted by impressions, as Google weights it. Lower is better.
  • Totals include queries Google keeps private for privacy, so they can be higher than the sum of the queries listed.
  • The data is kept for as long as your plan keeps analytics.

Your Google account

  • SuprAnalytics only asks to read Search Console data. It can't change anything in your Google account.
  • The access token is stored encrypted and never shown. Disconnect hands it back to Google and deletes the Search Console data kept for the website.
