Two approaches to understanding your website.

Neither is better for everyone. They answer different questions, and collect different amounts of data to do it.

Simple Analytics

Counts visits without identifying anyone.

  • No cookies, no local storage, and no visitor id, not even for a day
  • A visit counts as unique when it arrives from another website or with no referrer
  • One page of aggregate numbers, with goals counted in aggregate
  • Built for answering “how much traffic, and from where?” with as little data as possible

SuprAnalytics

Follows each visitor from their source to their payment.

  • A first-party cookie recognises a returning browser, unless you turn cookieless mode on
  • Each visitor's pages, goals, payments and chats, in order
  • Payments from your payment provider, credited to the source that brought the customer
  • Built for answering “which sources bring paying customers, and who needs help right now?”

See which traffic sources bring revenue.

SuprAnalytics follows a visitor from their first visit to their payment, so each source shows the revenue it brought, not only the visits.

  1. Step 1

    A visitor arrives

From a search, a referrer, a campaign or an AI assistant

  2. Step 2

    Their source is recorded

With the visit, and remembered by a first-party cookie

  3. Step 3

    They browse

Pages, goals and events, in order

  4. Step 4

    They reach a supported checkout

    Which carries their visitor id

  5. Step 5

    The payment webhook arrives

    From your payment provider

  6. Step 6

    Revenue is attributed

When the payment can be matched to the visitor

The referrer report of the live demo sorted by revenue: Google, direct visits, ChatGPT, a newsletter, LinkedIn and X, each with visitors, bounce rate, session duration, customers, conversion rate, revenue and revenue per visitor. Made-up data.
Scroll sideways for every column.

One website's referrers, sorted by the revenue each brought.

First touch

Credits the visit that first brought the customer. Good for “what finds new customers?”

Last touch, the default

Credits the visit the payment happened in. When a customer comes back directly to pay, Direct gets the credit.

Unmatched payments

A payment that can't be matched to a visitor, by visitor id, a customer id or an email, still counts in your revenue, without a source.

Each website picks first or last touch. How revenue attribution works

Payment integrations

A conversion value you send yourself says what a checkout was worth when it happened. A payment from your provider says what was actually paid, renewed or refunded.

  • StripePass the visitor id in your Checkout Session or Payment Link
  • PolarCheckout links are tagged by the script
  • Lemon SqueezyPass the visitor id as checkout custom data
  • PaddlePaddle.js checkout buttons are tagged by the script
  • Dodo PaymentsPayment links are tagged by the script

Anything else can send payments through the payments API. Checkouts the script can't see, such as one opened from your own server, need the visitor id passed in your code.

  • Renewals are credited to the customer's original visit
  • A full refund marks a payment refunded with every provider
  • Partial refunds lower a payment with Polar, Paddle and Dodo Payments; Stripe's are ignored, and with Lemon Squeezy the whole payment is marked refunded

What it doesn't do: join visitors across devices on its own, skip direct visits to find an earlier source, import past payments, or report MRR, ARR or churn. Simple Analytics lets you send a value as event metadata; its pages don't describe a revenue report or a payment-provider integration.

A customer's timeline on the live demo: found the website via reddit.com, came back directly a week later, signed up and paid $29 via Paddle. Made-up data.

Reddit first, a direct visit to pay through a Paddle button: first touch credits Reddit, last touch credits Direct.

Understand what happened before the conversion.

A journey shows one visitor's path. A funnel shows how everyone moved through the steps you care about, up to the payment.

  • Where did they arrive from? The source of each visit, with its referrer or UTM tags
  • Which pages did they visit, and which goals did they complete?
  • Did they convert, and did they pay? Their payments sit in the same timeline
  • Who are they? A name and email only if they give them in chat or your app identifies them

A journey follows one browser: a phone and a laptop are two visitors, and naming them with identify doesn't merge their journeys. In cookieless mode a visitor is recognised for a day, so their journey starts again the next day. About visitor journeys

A visitor's timeline on the live demo: found the website via google.com and signed up, came back three days later from a newsletter with UTM tags, started checkout and paid $79 via Polar. Made-up data.
A funnel on the live demo from the homepage to the pricing page, a sign-up, a started checkout and a payment, with visitors and the drop-off at each step, and a table of funnels with their conversion rate and revenue. Made-up data.

A funnel's last step can be a payment. How funnels work

Simple Analytics doesn't follow individual visitors, by design. Its goals can have several steps and show where visitors drop off, counted in aggregate.

See what visitors do. Then talk to them.

The chat bubble comes from the same script as your analytics, so each conversation opens beside the visit it belongs to.

  • A chat widget and one inbox for every website, on every plan
  • The visitor's source, the pages they read, their device and location beside each conversation
  • The conversation on the visitor's profile, next to their journey
  • Messages sent automatically when a visitor opens a page you choose

Visitors stay anonymous unless they type a name or email, or your app identifies them; you still see their visit. Simple Analytics' pages don't describe a visitor live chat. More about live chat

Where Simple Analytics may be better

Simple Analytics is a careful, privacy-first product. If one of these matters most to you, it's probably the better fit.

  • No cookies and no visitor id at all

Simple Analytics sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and creates no visitor id or IP hash, not even for a day. SuprAnalytics sets a first-party cookie by default, and its cookieless mode still recognises a visitor for a day.

  • An EU company, with EU hosting

Simple Analytics is Dutch, and stores website data in the EU; data leaves the EU only for features you opt in to, such as its AI assistant. SuprAnalytics offers no EU hosting option.

  • A free plan

Simple Analytics is free for hobby sites: 5 websites and 30 days of history, with its badge on your site. SuprAnalytics has a 14-day trial, then paid plans from $9 a month.

  • Your raw data, your way

Simple Analytics exports to CSV, TSV, JSON, Parquet and more, has a stats API on its Simple plan, and connects to Looker Studio and Power BI. SuprAnalytics has no file export and no read API; its stats come through its MCP server.

  • Team members today

Simple Analytics lets a paid plan add team members, at $20 a month each on Simple, and its docs describe roles from owner to viewer. SuprAnalytics' team access isn't released yet.

  • One page, and your Google Analytics history

Its dashboard is one page with no configuration, and it imports pageviews from Google Analytics 4. SuprAnalytics imports nothing: its reports start the day you install it.

Simple Analytics also has an AI chat that answers questions about your stats, once you agree to send them to OpenAI. Both filter bots and send email reports, and neither lists a password option for public dashboards. SuprAnalytics also has session recordings and heatmaps, off until you turn them on for a website.

Which product should you choose?

Two honest lists. Pick the one that reads like your situation.

Choose SuprAnalytics if

  • You want to know which sources bring paying customers, not only visits.
  • You take payments through Stripe, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or Dodo Payments.
  • You want to follow a visitor from their first visit to their payment, or build funnels that end in one.
  • You want to chat with visitors, with their visit beside the conversation.
  • You run many websites and want them all on one plan, from $9 a month.

Choose Simple Analytics if

  • You want no cookies and no visitor ids, with aggregate numbers only.
  • You need an EU company and EU data hosting.
  • You have a hobby site and want a free plan.
  • You want raw exports, a stats API or team members today.
  • You want to bring your Google Analytics 4 history with you.

How does the pricing compare?

Both price paid plans by monthly pageviews and events. Simple Analytics also has a free plan and yearly billing; SuprAnalytics bills monthly only. The prices below are monthly unless they say otherwise.

SuprAnalytics

  • 6 monthly plans, from $9 for 100,000 events to $149 for 5 million
  • Every feature and unlimited websites on every plan
  • Counts pageviews, custom goals and outbound link clicks; never chat messages or payments
  • 2 years to 5 years of data history, by plan
  • Past the allowance, recording continues to 20% over, then pauses; no overage charges
  • 14-day free trial, no card. No free plan. Monthly billing only

All SuprAnalytics plans

Simple Analytics

  • Free: 1 user, 5 websites, 30 days of history, its badge on your site; no events or goals
  • Simple: from $20/month for 100,000 pageviews and events to $120/month for 2.5 million, on its pricing page
  • Yearly billing costs ten times the monthly price, two months free
  • Simple includes 10 websites, 3 years of history and 1 user; extra users $20/month each
  • Over the allowance, the plan moves up to fit your usage
  • 14-day free trial, no card; then a paid plan or the free one
  • Enterprise at a custom price, with more APIs and exports

Simple Analytics' pricing

Last verified: . At about 100,000 a month, billed monthly: $9 and $20. Simple Analytics' slider says “pageviews”, and its docs count pageviews and events; SuprAnalytics counts pageviews, goals and outbound clicks. Some Simple Analytics prices and limits come from the plan data its pricing page loads.

Switching from Simple Analytics

There's no automatic migration. Here is what moving involves.

  1. Create a SuprAnalytics account

The 14-day trial needs no card. Keep Simple Analytics running for now: SuprAnalytics can't import its data, so your history stays there.

  2. Install the tracking script

One tag in the <head>, or the guide for your platform. Need no cookies? Turn on cookieless mode.

  3. Check that events arrive

Open your website and watch the visit appear in the realtime view.

  4. Set up goals and funnels

A sa_event("signup") becomes supr("signup"), or an HTML attribute. Then build your goals and funnels.

  5. Connect your payment provider, if you take payments

So revenue comes from the payment itself. How to connect one

  6. Compare before you switch off

Run both for a few weeks. Expect different visitor numbers: Simple Analytics counts unique visits from the referrer, SuprAnalytics counts browsers by a cookie. Compare trends, not exact counts, and export what you want to keep from Simple Analytics before you cancel.

Questions, answered.

What is the difference between Simple Analytics and SuprAnalytics?

Simple Analytics counts visits without cookies or visitor ids and reports them in aggregate, with a free plan, EU hosting, exports, a stats API and team members. SuprAnalytics recognises returning visitors by a first-party cookie, so it can show each visitor's journey, attribute payments from five payment providers to their source, and let you chat with them.

Is SuprAnalytics a Simple Analytics alternative?

Yes, if you want your analytics to show which sources bring paying customers, or to talk to your visitors. If you want the least data possible, no cookies and EU hosting, Simple Analytics may suit you better.

Does Simple Analytics support conversion tracking?

Yes, on its paid plans. It has custom events and goals, and a goal can have several steps to show where visitors drop off, counted in aggregate. Its free plan doesn't include events or goals.

Does Simple Analytics track revenue?

You can send a value with an event as metadata, such as a price. Its pages don't describe a revenue report, or importing payments from a payment provider and attributing them to visitors.

Can SuprAnalytics attribute Stripe revenue to traffic sources?

Yes. Connect Stripe's webhook and pass the visitor id in your Checkout Session or Payment Link, and each payment is credited to a source by first or last touch. Payments without a visitor id are matched by customer id or email when possible; otherwise they count in your revenue without a source.

Does SuprAnalytics include live chat?

Yes. A chat widget and inbox are part of every plan and come from the same script as the analytics. Each conversation shows the visitor's source, pages, device and location. Visitors stay anonymous unless they share their details or your app identifies them.

Can I track multiple websites?

Yes, with both. Every SuprAnalytics plan includes unlimited websites, sharing one monthly event allowance. Simple Analytics allows 5 websites on its free plan and 10 on Simple, with more on Enterprise.

Is SuprAnalytics cookieless?

Not by default. SuprAnalytics sets a first-party cookie unless you turn on cookieless mode, which sets none and recognises visitors for a day. Simple Analytics sets no cookies at all. Whether you need a consent banner depends on your setup and jurisdiction; this isn't legal advice.

Can I import historical Simple Analytics data?

No. SuprAnalytics doesn't import data from Simple Analytics or any other tool, so your history stays in Simple Analytics and SuprAnalytics starts recording when you install it. Simple Analytics can export your data, in formats such as CSV and JSON, for your own records.

Which platform is better for SaaS founders?

It depends on the question you're asking. If it's which channels bring paying customers, or you want to talk to trial users on your site, SuprAnalytics answers it directly. If you want simple traffic numbers with as little visitor data as possible, Simple Analytics is the stronger fit.
