Mixpanel's cells apply to every plan unless they say otherwise; “paid plans” means Growth and Enterprise. “Needs setup” is something you instrument or build; “Not listed” means its pages don't describe it. Different questions. Different analytics.
Both record events, build funnels and follow people through them. They start from different places.
Mixpanel
Product analytics: what people do inside your product.
- Which product features are people using?
- Where do users drop out of onboarding?
- Which cohorts come back, week after week?
- How does behaviour change over time, or after a release?
SuprAnalytics
Website analytics: how people find you, and what it earns.
- Where are visitors coming from?
- Which landing pages bring conversions?
- Which sources bring paying customers?
- What did a visitor do before contacting us?
Mixpanel can analyse acquisition too, from the referrer and UTM properties its SDK records; SuprAnalytics has funnels and journeys too. Many teams use both: a website tool for traffic and payments, a product tool for what happens after sign-up.
Understand how visitors find your website.
Add one script and every visit is counted with its source: no events to name, no pageview option to turn on.
- Channels: organic search, direct, social, email, paid, referral and AI search
- Referrers, campaigns and keywords from UTM tags
- Entry pages, the pages read, and the links clicked out
- New and returning visitors, with the revenue each day brought
The AI search channel counts a visit from a known assistant, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini or Copilot, when its referrer or a utm_source or ref tag names one. An assistant that sends neither shows up as Direct. About AI traffic
In Mixpanel, its web SDK records the referrer and UTM parameters on events once installed, pageviews once you turn them on, and attribution models on paid plans group credit by source. Grouping referrers into channels is a property you define; an AI channel isn't described in its docs.

Connect acquisition to actual payments.
Each payment your provider reports is tied to the visitor who made it, so every source shows the customers and revenue it brought.
- Step 1
Traffic source
The visit is recorded with its channel, referrer or campaign
- Step 2
Visitor identity
A first-party cookie gives the visitor an id
- Step 3
Checkout
A supported checkout carries that id
- Step 4
Webhook
Your payment provider reports the payment
- Step 5
Payment record
Matched by visitor id, a customer id it has seen, or an email
- Step 6
Attribution model
First or last touch, chosen per website
- Step 7
Revenue report
Revenue and customers by source, page and campaign

One website's referrers, sorted by the revenue each brought.
First touch
Credits the visit that first brought the customer. Good for “what finds new customers?”
Last touch, the default
Credits the visit the payment happened in. When a customer comes back directly to pay, Direct gets the credit.
Unmatched payments
A payment that can't be matched to a visitor still counts in your revenue, without a source.
Each website picks first or last touch and one reporting currency; payments in other currencies are converted with daily exchange rates. How revenue attribution works
How Mixpanel does it
Mixpanel tracks revenue as an amount on a purchase event your code sends, and its attribution models, on paid plans, credit that revenue to sources. Its revenue analytics, with lifetime value and refunds, read your billing data through warehouse connectors, which come with paid plans; subscription changes over time need Enterprise. For Stripe, its docs give a guide to forward Stripe's webhooks through a cloud function you host, or a partner; RevenueCat sends app subscription events. Its docs don't list Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or Dodo Payments.
Payment provider integrations
You connect each provider's webhook once. What else it takes depends on the provider.
- StripePass the visitor id in your Checkout Session or Payment Link
- PolarCheckout links are tagged by the script
- Lemon SqueezyPass the visitor id as checkout custom data
- PaddlePaddle.js checkout buttons are tagged by the script
- Dodo PaymentsPayment links are tagged by the script
Anything else can send payments through the payments API. Checkouts the script can't see, such as one opened from your own server, need the visitor id passed in your code.
- Renewals are credited to the customer's original visit
- A full refund marks a payment refunded with every provider
- Partial refunds lower a payment with Polar, Paddle (once approved) and Dodo Payments; Stripe's are ignored, with Lemon Squeezy the whole payment is marked refunded, and the payments API refunds a whole payment
What it doesn't do: join visitors across devices on its own, skip direct visits to find an earlier source, import past payments, or report MRR, ARR, churn or lifetime value.

Reddit first, a direct visit to pay through a Paddle button: first touch credits Reddit, last touch credits Direct.
See what happens before conversion.
A journey shows one visitor's path on your website. A funnel shows how everyone moved through the steps you care about, up to the payment.
- The entry source of each visit, with its referrer or UTM tags
- Every page visited, and the goals completed
- Recorded payments, in the same timeline
- The conversation, if they chatted with you
- A name and email only if they give them in chat or your app identifies them
A journey follows one browser: a phone and a laptop are two visitors, and naming them with identify doesn't merge their journeys. In cookieless mode a visitor is recognised for a day. About visitor journeys

A funnel's last step can be a payment. How funnels work
Mixpanel goes further into behaviour: funnels, a Flows report of the most frequent paths, retention and cohorts, and user profiles that its ID merge joins across devices once your code identifies the user. SuprAnalytics' funnels and journeys stay on your website.
Analytics and conversations in one workspace.
Visitors can message you from a chat bubble that comes with the analytics script, and each conversation opens beside the visit it belongs to.
- A chat widget and one inbox for every website, on every plan
- The visitor's source, the pages they read, their device and location beside each conversation
- The conversation on the visitor's profile, next to their journey
- Messages sent automatically when a visitor opens a page you choose
Visitors stay anonymous unless they type a name or email, or your app identifies them; you still see their visit. Mixpanel's docs don't describe a built-in chat; on paid plans it syncs cohorts to messaging tools such as Braze, Iterable and Intercom, where the conversation happens. More about live chat

Where Mixpanel is stronger
Mixpanel is a mature product analytics platform. If one of these is what you need, it's probably the better fit.
Product and event analysis
Events from web, mobile and server SDKs, with any properties, analysed in Insights, Funnels and Flows reports with breakdowns. SuprAnalytics records pageviews, goals and outbound clicks on websites.
Retention and cohorts
A Retention report on every plan, and behavioural cohorts you can create on any plan and save on paid plans. SuprAnalytics shows new and returning visitors, and no cohorts.
Identity across devices
User profiles with properties, and an ID merge that joins a user's devices once your code identifies them. A SuprAnalytics journey follows one browser.
Replays, heatmaps and experiments
Session replay on web and mobile, 10,000 a month free; heatmaps on web; experiments and feature flags, with limits by plan. SuprAnalytics has no experiments or flags, and its session recordings and heatmaps cover websites only, with a monthly quota by plan.
Teams and collaboration
Unlimited seats on every plan, project roles, shared boards and public board links with an optional password. SuprAnalytics' team access isn't released yet.
Data integrations
Warehouse connectors on paid plans, CDP partners such as Segment, a raw export API, cohort sync to messaging tools, and an MCP server. SuprAnalytics' API only accepts data, with stats through MCP.
Group analytics and scale
Account-level analysis as a paid add-on, attribution with eight models on paid plans, US or EU data residency, and an Enterprise plan for very large volumes.
A free plan
1 million events a month free, with no card. SuprAnalytics has a 14-day trial and no free plan.
Both set a first-party cookie by default and offer controls: Mixpanel opt-out functions and no stored IP address; SuprAnalytics an opt-in cookieless mode. Neither makes analytics compliant by itself: what you collect and how you configure it still matter.
Which should you choose?
Three honest paths. They aren't mutually exclusive.
Choose SuprAnalytics when
- Your main questions are about your website: where visitors come from and which pages convert.
- You want payments from Stripe, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle or Dodo Payments attributed to sources, with renewals and refunds.
- You want to chat with visitors, with their visit beside the conversation.
- You want pageviews and channels without instrumenting events.
Choose Mixpanel when
- Your main questions are about your product: feature usage, onboarding, engagement.
- You need retention, cohorts or account-level analysis.
- You track people across web, mobile and server, with one identity.
- You want experiments, feature flags, or session replay in your mobile app.
Use both when
- You need website acquisition and payment attribution, and deep product analytics after sign-up.
- Marketing works from SuprAnalytics; product works from Mixpanel.
- Each tool has its own script and its own numbers: expect them to differ.
How does the pricing compare?
Both price by events, but count different things. A Mixpanel event is anything your code or its SDK sends; a SuprAnalytics event is a pageview, a goal or an outbound click.
SuprAnalytics
- 6 monthly plans, from $9 for 100,000 events to $149 for 5 million
- Every feature, live chat included, and unlimited websites on every plan
- Counts pageviews, custom goals and outbound link clicks; never chat messages or payments
- 2 years to 5 years of data history, by plan
- Past the allowance, recording continues to 20% over, then pauses; no overage charges
- 14-day free trial, no card. No free plan. Monthly billing only
Mixpanel Free
- $0, for up to 1 million events a month, with no card
- Unlimited seats, 10,000 session replays a month
- Funnels, retention, flows and web analytics; cohorts can't be saved
- No attribution models, warehouse connectors or Query API
- Events kept 2 years by default
- Over the limit, data keeps arriving but reports are blocked until you upgrade or the month ends
Mixpanel Growth
- First 1 million events free, then priced by monthly events, up to 20 million
- For example, 2 million events: $259 a month billed monthly, or $185 a month billed yearly
- 5 million events: $613 a month billed monthly, or $438 billed yearly
- Saved cohorts, attribution models, warehouse connectors and the Query API
- Group analytics, data pipelines and extra replays are paid add-ons
- Usage over the plan is charged the next month, with no billing limit; Enterprise above 20 million, at a custom price
Last verified: . At 1 million events a month, Mixpanel Free costs nothing and SuprAnalytics $49. At 5 million, SuprAnalytics is $149 and Mixpanel Growth $613 billed monthly. The numbers don't line up one to one: a product that sends many in-app events uses Mixpanel's allowance faster, while a website's pageviews all count in SuprAnalytics' allowance.
